My new FD arrived.....
So my RX7 has finally made it here from Japan after a long long wait. It is a 2001 Bathurst R in sunburst yellow, and I am absolutely loving it so far. Petrol consumption has surprised me. I knew it would be thirsty but....
Anyway, here is the only photo that I have been bothered to take so far. It has the original 01 wing on it here, but I have since removed it and am waiting to get the holes filled. I have also ordered a Nakamichi deck (just a cd 400) and am searching the site for good ideas on speakers that will fit the front doors. It did have a black sparco steering wheel, but I have replaced it with the original mazda one.
Let me know what you think......oh, sorry about the crap photos the ones I took were all too large to upload. I'll try to take some better ones in the next few days.
My previous car was the oldest shape WRX, and the FD is far far superior, but I must admit to getting a large shock at 5k rpm in the wet today. My wrx never did that to me.LOL.

Congrats dude on your new baby, shes a beauty. I wish we had the 99+ models here in the states but what can you do. Take care of her and be careful in the rain since the tail seems to want slip on wet roads. Just be happy that you don't really have a winter session so you can pretty drive her 24/7. Have fun and congrats again on your 7.

adam,
1. Forget all the stereo ****. FDs aren't made for that. Throw something decent in and accept that you will never have the best acoustics.
2. Why replace the Sparco? The sparco wheel is superior to the Mazda one. Weighs less, smaller size.
3. If the car has an ECU or PFC or any other kind of fuel management: it may need to be retuned (gas consumption).
4. Don't drive like you know the car one bit until you've taken it on a track. No passing go, no other questions about that or you will wreck that car. The dynamics are nothing like a WRX.

- Just because we drive a spartan Japanese car doesn't mean it has to *be* spartan. With a bit of interior insulation, you would be suprised at the sound quality.
- I would rather take the Mazda steering wheel.
- Compared to the WRX 2.0L, Rx-7's drink gas.
- Track time and street time are two completely different experiences.
That's all. I congratulate you on your fine choice.

Oh.....my......god........I love that car. The color is so nice, but why take the wing off. The stock wing looks so nice. My friend is moving to Australia next year for college, so maybe I can convince him to buy one of these. What is the mileage of your car? Take more pics!
