My new FD

Well. I live in Illinois and I just bought this '93 Silver Touring with Red interior. I bought my dad a plane ticket and flew him to New York to buy it. He drove it back with only one problem. No heat. Here's a few pics.

I'm in process of changing the interior from red to black. Theres lots of work to be done. All this has been done this weekend. The only thing left will be a steering wheel, a set of seats, and to get the center consol and visors re-covered.

What's the history of the car? jw

Good choice though, SSM w/ Red leather interior is very nice and rare.

Great Googa Mooga!! What the hell happened to that thing? It looks like a drug dealers car that was repossessed and torn apart to search for narcotics!! Is the title clean at least? I have never seen a car look so nice on the outside and look so beaten on, on the inside. Good luck with it!!

He probably took it all apart since he's changing out the interior. Also looks like he may work/own a bodyshop, so he has the means of getting it done. Good buy? How much of a bargain did you get?

You going to re-do the seats or go with racing seats?
Man - that thing's a mess. Glad to see you're restoring it though. Good luck.

I paid $8600 for it. The outside is in O.K. condition. The entire car needs and will be painted. And yes, I took it all apart to redo the interior. It was intact when I got it. I'm thinking painting trusty "Rusty metalic". The same color as my Civic and S2000.

Racing seats for sure. I'd like to get the Bride Ergo II, but because of the price, I think I'll settle for Recaros.

Hey, where in IL are you located at? I'd love to stop by and take a look at it once you've got it finished.

It looks a bit <cosmetically> rougher than it was represented in its eBay/forum ads.

IMO, I'd do the color in some type of darker, metallic blue or something a bit different like the Legend Lime color available on the '05 Mustangs.

Why tear out the red interior to go black? I have an all black R1 interior but love the silver on red look.

Congratulations on your new car! I hope you'll enjoy it, and you probably will. I'm currently in the process of changing my interior colors too. Have fun.

Make sure that you post some pics when you get the car painted.

Congrats on the find. Hope that you enjoy the car.

looks great!

Looks like a crack house under the seat I thought the socket wrench was a needle lol

that rust color is pretty cool. The oxblood looks good with silver but I dont think it would look good with rust.

Your probably going custom but leathrseats.com is doing a revo group buy on new seat covers if you need slips.

What's wrong with people? This the perfect car for me. I plan on replacing most everything on the car anyway. Therefor, I wanted a "rough" car. Since I'll redo the complete exterior, and interior, there is no reason to spend more on a car that is in better condition and with "custom" wheels.

I'm going to repaint the car a different color. I'm thinking orane right now. I don't think red would go well with orange. If I go to black, I know it will go with any exterior color.

By the way, if anyone has a set of black interior black trim panels let me know. I would be interested in buying them. Otherwise it's off to the junk yards. I can't believe list price is something like $1500 for new OEM ones.

Silver with red leather was my first choice when I was looking, but I ended up with black/red. Shame to swap the red for black, but if you're going to paint it orange I guess that makes sense...the interior that is, orange is not a good color for the FD IMO.

Good luck with the build, looks like it'll be a fun little project. Keep us updated as you work. I'd love to see what it looks like when its finished.
