I guess there isn't a reason. Besides the one you stated but that wouldn't make enough of a difference to even really notice. I just figured since this was thinner than typical aftermarket exhausts that maybe thinner is better. I wonder why other companies don't use this technique? I like it a lot if, if I didn't already have an aftermarket exhaust I'd try to get my hands on one. 13lbs for an exhaust, you can't beat that.
