My motor is not blown!
Some months ago I was racing when my car just started idling really bad, and everyone told me that I had broke an apex seal. I was only boosting 9psi with a Power FC and stock cat. I wen to a mechanic here in Miami, and got a compression test, he told me that I blew a seal on my second rotor, and immidiately offered to buy the car off of me. It was a bit dissapointing but I didnt trust him. I turned around and took my car to another very good mechanic that I know and he said that my motor is fine and all my seals are good. He told me the idle problem was being caused by a bad/worn out engine harness which I've never changed, worn out coil harness as well, and that I needed a new pulsation dampner. This was a relief to me although I knew the motor couldnt have been bad because I had 14 inches of vacum at all times, just that the idle was really bad and dissapeard after around 3,000rpm. To all of you who have the problem I have, make sure that the compression test is done correctly and make them prove that the motor is infact blown. Don't let bull$hit guys like that touch your motor until they prove that its blown. If you would like to know the name of the guy and shop he owns who tried to scam me out of a perfectly good car, PM me and I will tell you.

Hey, you never see "my motors NOT blown" threads. Thats nice to hear. Nice job doing your homework too figuring out that it in fact wasn't blown. Must be a good feeling

Hell I'm relieved too. I thought I blew my engine at the track couple weeks ago. After a bad launch(major wheel hop) I noticed that my vacuum had went down and my idle was fluctuating. I was like ****! Suprisingly the car drove fine and continued to get full boost but the idle was still bad. Then I thought, oh well more incentive to get the 20b in. A week later I was investigating a coolant leak. So I removed the stock air box and noticed that the connector to the air pump had come loose(I accidentally broke the clip that keeps it together when I removed the engine 2 weeks prior). Apparently, the wheel hop & vibration caused the connector to work itself loose. I was sooooo relieved!

I think 14in. of vacuum is a bit low. Ported motors see more vacuum than that. Have you changed all the things your "good" mechanic told you to and if so hows it running now?
