My hand brake broke =(

Hey guys
SOMETHING terrible happened. After I was cruising around with my friends we had a little stop and when I pulled up my hand brake I heard a crack/snap. Now when I pull the hand brake up there's no pressure and it doesn't work anymore. Do you think i snapped the brake line or cable?

Definitely the e-brake cable. There are two sections, you'll have to take it apart to find out which one you need.

Oh okay. How do i take it apart? I took the center console thingy out where the shifter is. I took the handbrake boot off too but that's as far as I got.

Your best shot at is from the bottom of the car. I recently fixed one it was easy but the motor and trans was out. You might have to pull the cat, driveline and PPF for clear access.

Oh okay. So once I spot it i would just have to replace it with a new cable right? Hmm sounds kind of tricky. Is it easy to locate once the cat, driveline and ppf are removed?

Yes, only cable that will split going to rear brakes...you could go reverse too and trace from rear brakes to the front connection. Front ebrake line connects to the two rear lines.

Most likely the break occurred at the connection where the front and rears join up, I've never heard of anyone breaking the actual line.
