My gauges are "flinching"!

At least that is the only way I can really describe it. On my way to work this morning, my speedo and tach would drop and then resume normal operation. Now my tach has read inaccurately by up to 1000rpm for some time, but the speedo has never had problems until now. The odometer would even go out when the speedo needle fell for half a second or so. My only guess is that it could be bad wiring? Has anyone else had this problem?

Not that I don't believe you but I would welcome an explanation of how the alternator failing (essentially not charging the battery anymore) would cause your gauges to go out of wack.

Well I don't think it is the battery or alternator. My PFC is reading 13.8-14.3 volts consistently. But I guess it wouldn't hurt to get them checked.
