I'll guess it's the Tornado:

On a side note; I am only getting 17.8 MPG w/ mostly highway driving and I already have the HKS Twin Power.

I need to retune for 16:1 AFR's....

for those of you questioning my intentions on this thread, the following is a dialogue I had with mahjik regarding why the thread was pulled.

ps - thanks for all your help and an exemplary job moderating the forum.

Hey Chuck, we had a complaints about it from members as they weren't seeing any real technical information being discussed. I can re-open it if you plan on actually making it technical.

BTW, SurgeMonster is now driving a C5 Z06 which is why his gas mileage is so high on the highway.

-Kyle

Kyle,
I wanted to get a brainstorming seesion going that would create a little bit of levity on the light humorous side and on the serious side to see what people were doing or had done to address this issue of gas mileage while getting more power out of their 7's.

The thread seemed to quickly stimulate interest and input on both the light side and technical side; it got people thinking. Today I was going to answer the question and see where thing would go from there, whether a discussion of what they did or what my setup was and how it worked.

This issue is definitely one for serious scrutiny and im sure an issue that all of us would like to have a better handle on - better gas mileage while getting more and consistent delivery of power.

Im surprised that there would be complaints considering how many threads have absolutely no technical basis but garner positive attention from many members of diverse interests and backgrounds. Was it frustration from those complaining because they didnt get what they wanted immediately or that they would be required to dig deep and think, thus testing their knowledge and powers of deductive reasoning.

To answer the question, yes, if you wouldnt mind, I would like to continue the discussion to see what develops. Im sure that many that looked at the thread and those that posted would like to find out what I did to get the positive results and how they may be able to do the same.

If you would like to add this note to the thread, Im okay with that, rather than having to reiterate what happened to the thread.

Again, thank you very much for your followup and help.

Chuck

Sounds a bit condescending Chuck. If you want to tell us something, add to the collective knowledge that's great. But I missed the levity part. Initially at least, you just sounded like the opening of an late-night info-mercial.

I will followup with addressing the various posts and resolving this thread with an answer when I am off work this evening.

Is there no humor or room for levity in your daily existence, sorry, that really must suck.

There are some that are innovative and creative, possessing the ability to disseminate information in many forms, ultimately making it much more pallateable, interesting, and thought provoking while still maintaining a focus on the issue at hand.

So in common vernacular, "chill dude", the discussion will proceed to the next level and if you choose to participate rather than denigrate and have something positive to contribute, then step up to the plate and show us what you got.

Since I am at work currently, I will have to wait for recess and playground break this evening to continue with my input and discussion of better gas mileage with more power.

My Useless Atempt

3 pages and not one useful word about this "new device"...my vote: delete every post in this thread that is not factual about this "new device" to clean it up and make the answer (if chuck spills it) the 2nd post in this thread. If he doesn't spill it...close the thread again.

I don't need to read through 3+ pages of fluff to learn how to gain 3-6mpg. If this was a freaking hybrid that kept my stats on mpg...maybe. This is a performance car, and if you care about squeezing one more trip to your girl's house in, before you fill up with the most expense gas any station sells (Premium - which typically yields lower mpg than 87oct)...you can't afford to own and maintain this car.

IMO, this thread sucks. It is not rocket science...how to squeeze 3-6mpg out of a turbo rotary. Proper f*cking maintainace can do that.

Unless, there is a new device that magically powers the rotary engine alone on air...I want to read about it on the first damn page of this thread.

sorry to get so grumpy

Yes, there are "some" But, IMHO, that group doesn't include you.

Common vernacular? Proceeding to the "next level"? Still condescending Chuck. We're in awe of your soaring intellect. Some "common vernacular" comes to mind, but I'm resisting as best I can.

I agree...

The kid needs attention. Just leave the thread alone. He gets the giddies reading people's posts stating, "What is it? What is it? Come on! Tell us... tell US!!". No posts, equals no thrill for him, equals less aggravation on our parts. In 2 words, who cares?

Yeah, I have to agree this thread is lame with all the teasing/BS. Brainstorming? Are we all children here? Just tell us what it is, and let the discussion continue from there.

Oh come on, at least it isn’t as lame as 89% of the threads dealing with “what is this part” or can I fix my car for less than $5

I think it is a valid issue and one that I am very interested to hear about. Some of us are very interested in efficiency and actually study it and look forward to finding better ways to retain the exact same power and gain a few MPG, it is progress that is beneficial in every way, and isn’t the everyday drivel that seems to overwhelm this “technical” board.

that's why the thread was closed...if he tells a mod to re-open because he's "going to make it technical" the next post from him better be something useful, was it? NO. Then to start the same bullsh!t again...then close the thread again!!

don't come in here and defend yourself and call out the people that are reading a "technical forum"...make a damn post.

damn, I must be bored...

This is ******* bullshit. Say what you've got to say, or close the thread. This has been a waste of space so far.

I'd like to hear about it too, thats why I clicked on the thread...I'd like the next mod who reads this thread to delete everything except the first post and the second useful post out of a3dcadman.

I don't care that it was closed and reopened or for what reason and now everyones opinion if this thread sucks or not.

Maybe the topic is not the issue.
Its the way its been delt with.
i say a close to the thread was the best thing the mod did seen as its off topic as well now.
