You have a nice car, please don't blow it up. Read through these forums before you jump on ebay and buy "cool" stuff for it. These guys are serious about the boost creep, it will cost you another engine if your not careful.
What cars have you driven before this? You might want to go get some lessons if this is your first sports car with more then 200HP.... wet road + new car = dead 7.

I doubt the car truly has a straight through exhaust in the terms that you're thinking of. More likely it has a stainless catback with a "straight through" design muffler. I doubt this guy has to worry about boost creep. I have heard you can do three mods before you have to worry and this guy seems to have only one.

thnx for all input. In regards to the person that said something like "so many things wrong with that car, good luck with your project" can u elaborate a little to help me. Is there really that much wrong with it with its standard engine with only mod being exhaust? If so it might put me off buying it.

Buy it if you like it. But read the FAQs posted here. And don't mod it if you don't know what you're doing because you will blow it up.....eventually.
Personally I like the Veilside front. Not a fan of the wing but to each their own, as long as you like it, who cares what others think.
The FD is not a Civic and does not take kindly to half assed attempts at mods so be careful before you start messing with it. Personally, if you like it, leave it stock and enjoy it. But as mentioned earlier, get the piece that connects the intercooler duct with the stock air box.
As for the motor, the reason why people are giving you a hard time about posting it as a 2.6L is because I think most on this board are in the U.S. and its rated as a 1.3 L here (thats where the "13" in 13b comes from). So its just ignorance on some of us in the states that the motor is rated differently in some other markets.

1. That's the duct for your intake box. That duct is supposed to go inside the box to deliver fresh cool air.
2. That hole in your duct (it's supposed to be there, but there's a part your missing that blocks it up) is letting out the air that is supposed to be forced through your intercooler. The way it is now, your intercooler is getting a very small amount of air going through it.
3. That's the stock AST. We would all recommend you replace it with a metal version, as the stock one has a chance of cracking, causing you to lose coolant and overheat.
I would start there.

The addition of a 3” straight through stainless steel exhaust is all we have done but what a difference it has made! The car burbles away and sounds as good as it looks.
What i would do:
1) Read all of the buyers guide posts, all of the applicable stickies, etc.
2) Get the car on the lift to confirm everything.
3) Order an AST & Boost gauge
4) replace the plastic or block off the bit above the intercooler.

actually I would start with #3. That AST is about to burst! I wouldn't even drive that thing until I changed that. To either an Aluminium one or a NEW stock one.
Me personally I would choose the new stock one because I am not a fan of the aftermarket ones. My old one (pettit madeit) didn't seal properly (which would cause overflow tank issues every couple of months) for years until I found my culprit.
Went back to stock and all problems were gone
The stock AST isn't garbage, but it does have a finite lifespan. After several years the plastic weakens and can burst.
You can install a new stock AST every 50k, or just put in an all-metal AST or AST deletion kit. All of these three options is equally justifiable.

so yeah +1.
If it's black it's all good. If the AST = greenish black it's time to change it. If it's rather green you are living on borrowed time. The one in the picture is seriously scary looking.

How the hell have you managed to get insurance on an fd at 19? My nephew is paying £1300 on a 1.4golf, so it's gonna cost you over £4000 mate. When i had my fd at the age of 24, a lot of insurance companys would not insure me on it. Gotta be over 30 blah blah blah. It is a group 20 car. Thats the same group as a escort cossie, ferrari etc. Most of the members on here are from the usa. If your looking for a uk forum try www.mazdarotaryclub.com or www.fduk.org. There are a few members up scotland/glasgow way. Nice car though man ESPECIALLY AT 19!!!!!

Don't change the Veilside stuff unless you don't like. Many people here believe it's the worst kit (and/or front end) you can buy for the FD but I think it looks pretty good on your FD. Love the color to!

Na i dont mind the car the way it looks i wont be changin it. Its a headturner at moment anyway. Specially cause im rather young to be driving it and the candy red in the sun its beatiful. Btw the photo in that magazine was taken in 2005 but it wasnt working and recently went to rotay specialist who has it all working now, So theres actualyl a high chance that the AST etc has been replaced. Cause surely they woulda noticed that if all you guys did. If not looked under bonnet yet cause i havent poicked up car yet.
