My FD is finally getting there!

Hey guys, after 2 years and alot of money (as all of you would know) my FD is almost there! 2 things left! Need to replace my PPF, which I have bought, just need to chuck it on. and purchased check valves from Dale, can't wait to have boost back! But also something else which I need assistance with!

When I first purchased my FD, the previous owner 'accidently' used automatic wiring harness with a manual transmission. The only symtoms i've noticed is that it rocks back and forth if deaccelerating under 2000rpm. When the engine is cold, it rocks quick vigiously, but when its warm, it only rocks under 1500rpm. I've spoken to my rotary specialist mechanic, and he said that an aftermarket ECU will fix this? My question would be, can an aftermarket ECU fix it? Or should I just replace the harness? How hard is the harness to replace etc... any assistance is greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance!

I would say if you're going to spend money on an ECU, you might as well spend the money and get the right wiring in it. With cars, especially the 7, doing it the right way instead of taking shortcuts is IMO the best way to go.

It's really not that bad. If you're mechanically inclined you should easily be able to tackle the job. I actually have a couple manual wiring harness' for sale though. So, if you're interested hit me up...

Sup Dennis - I've got same problem with my new car. Got a leak somewhere but haven't had time to sus it out. I might be looking at buying some check valves too when I come to fix it so tell me how those ones from Dale go. I know I'd rather pay $20 for 4 rather than $50 here that Mazda is charging.

Leighton! Long time no speak! JUst trying to fix my FD! haha, what have you been up to? Yeah, my old check valves are not very good, for the past 2 years, I only got 5 psi from my trubo second and didn't even know! And now it lags quite alot when I shift, but can't wait to get these VITON check valves from dale! I only paid 25 AUD for all 4 check valves including postage - to be honest, I think mazda are charging $80AUD for all check valves... rediculious... but i'll let you know how they are!

STR8RYD - is there like a write up, or something that can assist in the changing of the wiring? I am mechanically inclined, but haven't dealt with this before.

My FD is right hand drive, are the wiring harness your selling work with right hand drives? How much

Thank you!
