Is my duct warped? Pics inside
I've been going round and round with Pettit and the coolcharge II duct they sent me and thought i would ask the "knowledge base". Can somebody tell me if the driver's side of the duct is warped inwards or not?
It looks like it to me, but I've never seen another to know for sure..

Thanks!

That's normal. The 'warping' on the top and passenger side will go away once you start cutting it to fit your stock/Greddy SMIC. The driver's side bend will expose some of the IC face; but that's not a bad thing. You actually want the duct to be slightly smaller than the IC face and seal the interfaces ... that way, you'll force the air to go THROUGH the IC. I ended up using some metal tape to cover the gap. It's probably not the most professional looking duct, but it's effective ... and cheap!

Red rotor - Any chance I could get you to highlight the areas you cut on your duct by drawing arrows on one of my pics and emailing it to me?? If so, I'd appreciate it - my email is brent.gaynor@attbi.com
Thanks!
Thanks!

Well yesterday I heard from Pettit why the duct came looking like it did - apparently the mold they use is old and they don't plan on changing it - Jeff told me I was more than welcome to return it for a refund, but I decided to make the most of it.
So I am proud to say my trusty - kitchen torch (read: for creme brulee) has helped me again. I managed to reform the duct to fit almost perfectly with only having to cut the one side that is flanged outwards. This was done by heating small areas and applying pressure to the area to hold in position. Once I had the way I wanted - I wiped it down with a wet cloth to cool it.
I've yet to fully install it - but I am optimistic that I will get a complete seal.
