When I accelerate the car whistles for like two seconds or so. It does it whenever I accelerate - in any gear... I have the silicone hoses on her what could it be?

whistle

My R2- It sure sounds like a boost leak. You say you have the silicone hoses. Do you mean you have replaced the large (3 inch) diameter hoses from the turbos to the IC and IC to intake elbow with the aftermarket neoprene hoses? If so, still sounds like a boost leak. Check for something loose or not connected.

Or....Go for broke, replace everything from your turbos through to the throttle body with polished aluminum and pretty colored neoprene and decent ss hose clamps! For a couple hundred $ you will have an engine compartment to be admired.

Thumbs up

Yes probably a leak from boost hoses or exhaust in the engine compartment...Check all your boost hoses.intake to turbos, turbos to intercooler, etc. You might have a loose hose, hose connecter, or a crack in one of these hoses. If not it may be leak from exhaust around turbos or precat/downpipe area. Remember whooshing/whistling means escaping air....and even the slightest of cracks or loose fitment can produce a loud noise during turbo spoolage.. A boost guage would help diagnose because there should be a lackof if there was a weak spot. I have fixed a few whooshes and whistles by going over these areas. I even had a loose nut on a stud that holds the turbos to the motor ( it was making a horrible vibrating noise) although once tightened everything was solid and quiet. All of these tiny problems hurt performance and should be attented to.Good luck!G
