My car is a bitch:( but damn I love it

Decided to give the old turbo swap a try. I got some 99 spec turbos from Jesse Lau and haven't taken the time to take it to the shop to have them do it, so I decided to give it a try. In the past, any mods I've done on the car has ALWAYS has some freakin' problem, usually it being oone bolt that won't break loose or rounds itself off. So I knew going in that I'd have trouble.

Take all the stuff off to get to the DP and turbo assembly. In 3 hours time, I'm down to 2 studs on the turbo housing and the unit will off. Crap my pants, both bolts WILL not come off, soaking it for 30 minutes (now soaking over night) won't budge, 1 busted/swollen knuckle, 2 banged and bruised forearms and wrists and still no luck, then I get low on arm strength from the beating my car is giving me and can't make them move. Any suggestions on removing the 14mm bolts? Prayer anyone?

Tim

Try heating it with a torch and then take them off. Good luck.

i had the exact same problem!
there is only one answer...
Take a hammer and chisel and brake the seat loose.. It takes some hitting... then try with the rachet... worked for me... But only after i tried to drill thru the damn thing..

its out of focus but that what it looked like.. I drilled thru half.. then decided to try a rachet and it worked easily!

Jonathon,

these turbo swaps are a pain in the ***. One of the bolts is the one in the middle, sort of hidden. other one is the top right, from underneath looking up at the assembly, near the actuators. Either way, tho
se sum bitches are coming out tomorrow

Thanks for the idea too

Tim

thats the same one that i had **** from...

Kick its *** man! just remember... you cant break the damn thing.. and since the base is heat seized on you need to physically break it loose.. And a racket and socket is the least effective way of doing that! Long thing chisel worked for me!
