my boost is kinda weird...

hey guys, i was wondering if anyone could help me out, i just bought a 93 fd with the following mods, straight 3" pipe exaust, intercooler upgrade, cold air intake/airfilter. the car seems to run very nicely and starts right up every time so far (cross my fingers), no smoke (well a little when it first starts up but quickly dissapears). when i talked to the guy who sold me this car, he said he was boosting 1.5 bar which should be about 22-23 psi i think. i though he was joking cuz i though a stock twin turbo fd could not run that high right... well i was wrong, the car has a greddy boost gauge which seems to be hooked up right and shows that the boost pattern for the car is .9 bar of boost when the car is on the first turbo and 1.5 bar steady when the second turbo comes online. the car has extra injectors but the fuel lines are cut off so they are not currently working. could the boost pattern be right? i have only brought it up to 1.5 bar 1 time, this was when i did not know that it could do it and when i saw it was going that high, i let off the gas and it came back down. i was wondering if this boost pattern is even possible with stock fd turbos.

what kind of boost controller/waste gate combo can take me down to a safer 10 psi untill i can get the other injectors online and a power fc/computer.

also if this is right, how many hp should the car be putting out?

P.S. i know that a stock fd cannot handle 1.5 bar boost!

1.5 bar is way too much for stock turbos. I've been told that stock turbos will handle around 17 PSI max, and thats only for short periods of time.

There is some sort of aftermarket ECU or something on this right?

hi guys, well i have installed a Super afc to check if the boost gauge was right or not and it does seem that i am getting about 1.1-1.5 bar of boost. the ECU is stock by the way but i think it has been reprogramed. this is cuz im pretty sure a stock ecu would have fuel cut by now. Well I did not blow the engine to bits yet and my air/fuel ratio gauge seem to be at rich all the time so i guess im ok. no one has posted any types of boost controllers, which are the best?
also Zoomspeed, what did u mean that the stock turbos could only handel 17 psi? do you mean that the stock turbos can only put out 17 psi max or what???

is 1.5 bar even possible on the stock turbos? i thought they maxed out at 18 psi? but if both your safc and greedy boost guage are reading 1+ bar, i don't know. you should be making some mad hp at 22 psi. 400-500 hp range hehe! well it all depends on efficency and the stock turbos start to lose efficiency around 14 psi if i'm not mistaken? anything above that, it puts a ton of stress on them.
Maybe the turbos are clipped or something. anyone know whats the deal with pettit or m2 rebuilt turbos? how are they? anyone have them on their car?

With stock turbo's and 17lbs of boost you will hit around 380-400 rwhp if the car is tuned right. Sounds to me like your boost gauge is off.
