My AVCR got an independent life...

Guys,

Iīve been reading on the forum about this, but couldnīt find the exact problem I have...

94 JDM RX7 / Stock Twins / Rich Man Non Seq Conversion
K&N Intake / Efini Pipe / Midpipe / No Cat / Blitz Muffler
ARC Intercooler / Supra TT Rewired Fuel Pump

Just installed an AVCR, RPM got nothing to do with reality, on my first (and only) run it showed 1,3 Bar @ 3500RPM @ 93% Injectors Cycle...

I did it only in 3rd gear, and then parked the car...

Any advice on what to look up ?? Iīve been dealing with this for a while and canīt get to fix it... AVCR Setting was taken from the forum...

Any help is welcome.

Saludos desde Chile.

Thanks..!!!

Another newbie question...

Do I still get fuel cut over 10PSI with the stock ECU and AVCR ??

Since the AVCR use its own MAP sensor I think may be not...

Thanks..!!!

Do you have the engine type set correctly in the AVCR? I believe it should be set to 4 cylinder. And yes the fuel cut is still there unless you have a chipped ECU. How did you hook it up? What is connected to the precontrol actuator?

Also, turn off the AVCR and see how it boosts.

What do you mean by RPM got nothing to do with reality? Are the RPMs not reading correctly on the AVCr? If so you may have taped into the wrong wire.

Also 93% injector duty cycle are you getting this number from the AVCr? It is my understanding that when installing the AVCr you only hook up either the RPM or injector duty cycle NOT both.

Here is a link to a AVCr install http://www.fd3s.net/avc-r_install.html . When i installed mine I followed this and have no problems.

Hope this helps.

Is set on 4 cylinders but I may have an issue there.

On the manual says, BE SURE TO SET THIS SETTING TO 1 IF THE PURPLE WIRE OF THE HARNESS IS CONNECTED TO THE INJECTOR SIGNAL WIRE; from what I heard from the shop is connected to injector signal wire...

Iīll try, but the RPM reading is a mess...

Thanks John, I did it based on that manual, anyway I will re check connections and hoses and see if it gets fixed.

Anyway, from what Iīve read I canīt get over 10 PSI on the stock ECU ?? Is it true ?? Damn..!!!

Thereīs no cheap way to get rid of the fuel cut ??

I forgot you were non seq when I asked about the precontrol. Are you sure you used the correct ports on the solenoid? You should be using the "NO" port, NOT the NC port. Which ECU pin is the purple wire connected to? Did you hook the two ground wires up exactly as the diagram shows (spliced into the same wire, but not connected to each other)? Did you make sure to use the "NO" port on the solenoid for the wastegate hose?"

If you want to increase boost levels over stock the only thing that really makes sense is to get a Power FC and Datalogit, as we've discussed. I would keep it at stock boost levels until you've got the money together to take the next step.
