My 94 FD has arrived today! I am so happy!

that is correct my car just arrived about 2 hrs ago! had a nice little drive in it to my house and loved every second of it! Went home called Lance from lamotorcars.com and let him know that I just received the vehicle.

He let me know that the motor is still under break in period since it only has 50 miles on it. Told me to keep it under low boost until 500 miles or so. I then did a quick install of a boost gauge to check the Vac and Boost. 10-8-10 pattern. Vac is 18. Seems everything is running smoothly and seems everything is correct.

Tomorrow setting a appointment with Tripointengineering to install:
New Fuel Filter
New Thermostat
Redline Gear Oil
Redline Diff Oil
Aluminum AST
Flush Coolant

Then 2 weeks later buying a upgraded radiator, and switching my hoses to silicone! What does everyone think?

Sounds like a good plan, but 10-8-10 isn't exactly keeping things on low boost, Bubba. Try to take it easy like the man said.

If the motor is still in break-in stage, you might verify with Lance those things you are looking to have Tripoint do... Most of those may have already been taken care of....

very true mahjik, Lance is sending me all the paperwork of the motor FedEx tomorrow. Motor was installed by Rotary Performance in Texas so they might have done all of that. Good looking out, I will have to over look all my paperwork to see what they did and make my decision from there. Nice point out!

Congrats. Good luck with your new car. Just to check on the FD market every now and then--(if you don't mind) Did you purchase at, below or above 10K?

Ive read many horror stories of people not properly breaking in the motor.

Honestly, I wouldn't go under any boost at all. =P

Just cause of what happens when a engine prematurely fails. =(

50 miles on the motor and you ran 10psi???????????????

WOW! They call it "break in" for a reason. I know you're very anxious but good things come to those who wait. You probably didn't hurt anything but don't run any boost at all for atleast the first 250 miles. Then only a couple psi if any. Do a search for proper break in.

Oh yea, welcome

I'm sorry, I missed the part where you revealed how much you paid. Could you tell me?

So your sending the car back to LA to Tri-Point?

My car just came back from them. Top-notch work but very very expensive.

Boost under break in was not good. But can't be undone now
I don't think you hurt anything though.

Welcome to the club and have fun. Don't wreck in during these cold days, ok ?

ya I am not taking the FD over 4000 rpms at all and just pushing on the gas slowly not mashing on it. Found some break in tips, don't go over 4000 rpm's dont boost, don't race, at 500 miles change oil and filter. Thats my plan and at 500 miles I am switching to Mobil 1 15w50 and a mobil filter or oem.

Pepsiman,

Your location says Florida. Sounds like you are in So. Cal. Where are you?

How many miles on the car, and how much did you pay?

Sweet, another satisfied LAMotorcars customer!! I can't push Lance down there in Texas enough! Glad to hear the out of state buying experience went well. Many people ask me what it is like to buy from out of state, but I drove my *** down there to look and pick out my car. It would be nice if you could describe your experience in this thread for future customers of Lance.

Any reason for flushing coolant on a new engine??

And the AST takes all of 15 minutes to do yourself for free. And no silicone hoses already done. They should just make that part of new motor preps/installs.

BTW, congrats!

Welcome, and enjoy your 7. One thing... Instead of the fan mod, you may want to consider the miata thermoswitch (which basically just lowers the point that the fans come on). It is automatic, and there are no extra switches to mount! There has been a lot of discussion on this board - just search for "miata thermoswitch". You should find more info than you need.

Well, no need to change the vacuum lines if you're getting perfect boost. Really..
