Motul Engine Oil ?

Hi everyone! I need to know if anyone has ever used Motul oil for your engine. My rotary mechanic suggested this oil for my FD but I wanted to have a second opinion from you first. I do not know anything about Motul oil for rotary engines, so i would really appreciate any help. Many thanks in advance!!

I use it for both my rotary and for the oil metering pump. Everything have worked really fine from when I begun to use it.

Most notable was the start up smoke when I used different oil for my metering pump. It all but dissapeared from when I use Motul. My 7 is pratically smokeless even during startup. I had even an oil leak somewhere from the metering pump which strangely stopped the moment I change to Motul.

I a pretty much satisfied with it and will not change it. I even had the luck to listen to a lacture that the Motul representative made to my specailists and it really works wonders to a car.

Also I use the Motul engine cleaner at any oil change service. It really helps in removing carbon and sludge deposits. My specailist recommended to do so at any oil change with a rotary since it is much more prone to these deposits and again never regretted it.

Oil metering pump? Where exactly is that?
I usually do my own oil change and add oil to the oil filler neck only.

The oil metering pump is an add after device with inject oil in the housing to better preserve the rotary in general. It has a stand alone oil tank which you fill and that is where the metering pump takes the oil it injects. A recommended mod if you want a better longer life for a rotary.

Only now I see that you are from my same country even if I am from Gozo. So rare here. In 3 years here met only one other from Malta.

If you need any assistance Frank at Frank's Auto parts is the name for you. Guess you have been there cause he is a local distributer. Mine has been totally in his hands for nearly 3 years now. Never regreted it once.

Sorry Gozo is the real RX7 den.

Actually, the OMP was a factory standard device on all rotaries, to my knowledge. I know for a fact, all FCs and FDs at least came with it. Without the OMP, the motor would sieze and/or blow in a month, unless you premix.

It's an extra one suited to inject 2 stroke engine oil in the housing which cannot be normally done. I had mine recommended and added soon after I bought the car and I never regretted it check here for photos. It is at the bottom of the page because it is the very first thing I did to my 7.

Here it costed me around $300 everything done.

ITR for anything you want done to your 7 come with it to Gozo at Frank's Autoparts. Believe me, he knows our cars inside out. I have seen countless mod being done on all RX7 here in Malta and Gozo from ports to single turbos conversions. You cannot go wrong. I am sure Frank will guide you to the best in all you want to do. I have been with him for the last 3 years and never regretted it.

He is at Hal Far very often and you will notice him since all RX7 owner flock to his side. However I would recommend doing the basic realibility mods before trying more complicated once as Frank thought me.

vellj001. I talked to franky about this but he couldn't actually understand why. I want to port my wastegate as to make a huge reliable modification, as i'm currently running on a mid-pipe and would really want to avoid any boost spikes or boost creep for which a boost controller or an apexi ecu are helpless in this.

Unfotunately, no one in gozo or in malta whom i met ever understood the reason why or how to port the wastegate.

If Frank does't no about this I doubt there is someone in Malta that does. I would have addressed you to Carmel Spiteri (better know as Chakondu) who was Frank's master here in Gozo but unfortunetly he left Gozo just a year ago for New York.

I too was to go for a mid pipe mod but canclled it out to avoid what you mentioned and even to have better results during MOT teste here. Emitions will be a problem I am guessing here in the future.
