wankel88, the atkins video is ok, but I highly recommend the video from rotaryaviation.com. this vid is awesome. in fact I am in the process of rebuilding myself and this is my first time. Its a little intimidating at first but once I got started it was actually pretty easy. just be prepared to spend some money in tools and overhauling supplies if you dont have access to them. fdfreak, if you dont mind me asking, what turbo did you trap 118mph with on 12lbs? Thats pretty crazy trap speeds for that amount of boost.

 

I am using percision turbos T04z. I was suprised to, unless my commader and boost gauge are both wrong. my boost guage read 0.86 kilos and the commader read .88 kilos. i tried higher boosts (16psi) but could never grab.

 

I had a customer with one of my rebuilds recently put down 438 at 16psi with that turbo. So at 12lbs you are probalby around 400rwhp so that is about right for the trap speeds.

 

I hope your rebuild goes well. If It was me I would take my time with this one and dont short cut. spend some money doing some balancing and porting intake, water jackets and oil passage. but spend the money and get good high quality race barrings and stationary gears i know they recomend these if you plan on 8500 rpms or higher but come on whats better a 2 Bolt main or 4 Bolt main its the same theory. If it is made to handle that then wont it last longer for you??? if you have to spend the money on the inside of the motor put it all back together and then add on the bolt=on stuff later. Ive seen alot of friends reuse stuff that is kinda border line or close to spec and waste a $10000 motor so just be careful who you use and check all your parts your self for the proper clearences.
