Hmmm search and save for a rebuild. If he just purchased it, he should make sure everything is running correct and all maintence is done before hand, careful with your 5K launches.

He needs a reman motor, he isn't going to make good power for long with a 100k mile block. Plus, he has the wrong turbo setup, and the wrong catback, if he's looking for serious power.

Tell him to look into a GT35R T4.

B&M short shifter.

Toe links, trailing arms, diff brace to combat wheel hop.

B&Ms are really short and rough shifters.... my friends have one on the FD and a S13.... both of them are really short and if you rev up high its starts to rattle like a mother... well atleast alot faster (RPM wise) than the other shifters.

If you want a longer and smoother shifter thats shorter than the stock one... look into the Mazdaspeed or RE Amemiya.

My B&M doesnt rattle a bit. Are you sure he doesn't have a replica? It could always be the car in question---it's not always the shifter.

I also have a B&M shifter. Very short, smooth, and a great piece overall... No rattling here!

Rich, how restrictive do you think the RB catbacks really are compared to most other performance exhausts??

is it not better to run RB size catback on twins as it brings extra torque from the slight back pressure if you are running straight exhaust

It's hard to say. A lot depends upon the power levels in question, but if I was trying to make over 400 atw I wouldn't be running a RB dual tip. I'm really happy with my full 4 inch setup, it's nice knowing that I don't have to worry about exhaust restriction.

Yes, the fuel pump and injectors, the single turbo guys will give you specifics.

OMFG!!! It is soooooooo much nicer/mature/respectful/and helpful here compared to the 2nd Gen section (sorry bmwrx7man I own an FC too though) Thankfully all my serious ?'s need be answered here.

A good person to talk to about fuel systems is Tim Marren over @ www.injector.com. He can set you up with anything that you'd need. Pump, injectors, PD, specific rec's etc etc. He's been my goto guy for about a decade when it comes to fuel related stuff. Nice thing about some of the injectors he sells is the grading in size is much tamer. Meaning he offers 850's & 1600's and in all seriosness probably a dozen sizes in between. Although last we talked he can't really help with the side feeds, but there are aftermarket rails available to solve that problem.

You said you he had "all the bolt ons", which is exactly what a downpipe, midpipe, and exhaust are.

Perhaps you should stop wasting everyone's time and have your friend post directly about his car.....just a thought.

i didnt notice a power loss when i went from the apexi n1 dual to the racing beat exhaust. this is on stock twins so not sure if there would have been a difference if i was single or not.

Stock REW engine (internally) is only limited by the age and mileage of the apex seals. The age and mileage (as the apex seals get shorter) makes them more brittle and more prone to breaking under detonation. The engine itself will make as much power as the turbo that's able to feed it. Most improtant..... find a good tuner.

If you watch the video when it was on the dyno the car is on a different exhaust, not the racing beat in that picture.
