Most expensive stock FD

I'm trying to find the most expensive stock(ish) FD out there.

I bet a guy I could find one for over 30.. but seems like I should just put my foot in my mouth..

Anyone know what the most an FD could go for?

Over here in Australia we have the rarest of the rare FD's; the RX-7 SP.

They go for anything up to about $54,000AUD, which works out to about $34,000USD. A mint original would fetch that easily.

Problem is finding a 'mint original' these days..

OK, I couldn't help it.... I bought my FD a couple of months ago, with 78 kilometers (not thousand kilometers and not miles).
So I suppose I married a 80 year old virgin, or even more?
But damn, she' s so good at sex!!

haaaaa

also we are really talking about the rx7 in america when they where only sold here till 95.... so its odd to see a stock one for 30k. yet our friends in the UK and every where els they have the cars till the 2000's so there is a higher chance of them being priced very high still (correct me if im wrong)

I would like to think mine would be in the running if it was for sale.

1994 R2 Vintage Red, VIN after clutch improvement by Mazda.

2x,xxx Miles. Driven just the right amount if you ask me. Not too MUCH, not too LITTLE, but ALL adult owned. The car has probably never been past 75 mph.

BONE stock (even exhaust and intake is original) everything works on it. I have two sets of aftermarket wheels for it because the originals with the original tires are sitting in the garage where they won't get screwed up.

Kept in Heated & Cooled garage under both a light weight dust cover and a heavy duty cover.

Never ONCE been in the rain. Have all the original "stuff" (manual, etc....).

I won't drive it if it is HOT, COLD, or SUNNY (we know FD Paint is horrendous).

Hell, I finally decided to just quit inspecting it because it was nerve wracking allowing someone else to be around the car.

There are certainly others with lower mileage but I would doubt many have been treated like this one has.... I feel guilty not driving it more often and never driving it hard, but oh well. Hopefully I won't have to find out what the market value is anytime soon....hopefully....

Very nice, clean car.

Yeah - I believe so. They are Old School for sure, but look decent and have nice rubber wrapped around them, so they work well for me!

money, check out fritz's car, its around what yours is.
Seaford...
You sir are awesome. Besides the painted lower lip, your car is pure awesome. What year is it? A 93? 94 and up, I think even some 93s had alot better paint so if you do have a newer one, take it out more!

I'd expect an asking price of $25k but it is not clear if it would sell for anywhere close to this. The market for used cars has gone **** up over the past six months so it remains to be seen how much the market for low mileage FDs has been affected.
You can now buy ~50k mile M5s and M3s for less than $25k. At the low end, FD asking prices have dropped from $12-$13k to $8-$9k on Craigslist (which tends to react to the market quicker than Autotrader).

Mine is a 94-R2, and I believe it was made fairly deep into the production cycle. I'd have to check though.

I keep telling myself I will drive it more, but I don't really want to drive it to work, so that leaves the weekend and half the time I am dirty doing some household project, or if my wife and I go to dinner we will usually have a drink, so It doesn't go.

Just don't get to drive it as much as I'd like.

Haha. I agree with the guy that said he bought his car to drive.

My neighbor has an 89 Lotus Esprit. Black on tan. Perfect car.. 3,000 miles.
What a waste. (He did teach me stick on it though - which was nice of him )

Anyway, if you buy a car for the investment.. youre dumb. If you buy it, might as well enjoy it for the true purpose for which it was built for. IMO

there is no way that i will sale my car for 25k. and never thought out selling her out to anyone. but it doesn't matter what the market /value of the car.. ppls will pay good amount of money if they like it. so it all depend on the buyer.

and

Dom is right. we buy the car to drive, and enjoy. but we must buy the car that we will actually put effort, times, paint, love to it. that is what really matter. ( to me ) lol.! not sure about how you fellows feel. but that is how i feel. No point of getting a car that you ain't going to enjoy driving it.
