More Profec B issues

I bought the car with this already installed, so Im not really sure about a few things. The controller works meaning that I can adjust the ***** and things happen. Ive adjusted the ***** so that everthing runs smooth. A nice 14-10-14 pattern. Here is the problem I can make it over boost 14+ but I cant get the boost lower than 14. Even with the low setting and the **** all the way to the left. Ive checked to see that everything is plumbed correctly and that the switches are in the correct position. All looks good. Any thoughts?

Could be the nipples on your turbo's. They may need to be drilled out.

Ah, but to drill them out I thought was to allow more boost. So I it takes a drill bit of what size to allow enough flow?
thanks

I thought it was to lower boost, but I could be wrong.

Maybe the restrictor pills were reapplied to the wastegate line?

EDIT: I suggest this because my Profec will allow 8 lbs of boost, and I've never needed to touch the turbo nipples..

With your mods, you should easily be able to maintain less than 10 psi with the Profec. sszablya has a good point -- make sure the lines between the turbo housing/wastegate actuator and the Profec solenoid do not contain a pill.

What are your boost levels with the Profec turned off?

Ill check the wastegate line. With the profec turned off it runs 14 psi. Now to check to see that there are no pills I take it that I can just feel the vaccum line and see if there is anything out of the ordinary.

thanks for the ideas

If you are pushing 14 with it off it is not hooked up right. It should be in safe mode, allowing only 7/8 lbs.

Ok I took the profec out and reinstalled it (seems like it was installed correctly) I could not find any pills. Now the line that used to goto the WG needs to be capped off. I could not find it down below, wouldnt I get a check engine light if this was not capped, or would it be somthing else. I did alot of searching on how to get the boost lowered but the general idea was it was good only for regulation of the high end of the boost not helping the lower boost levels.

I assume you're sure the boost controller is utilizing the correct 2 out of the 3 ports on the solenoid?

look on scuderia or the other site for info on that wastegate line that needs to be capped. i think that could be what your problem is.

Update- I looked at everything and the correct hose is capped. So this I know, the controller is working. I can adjust the balance, sharp and high settings. Its just that I cant get the lower setting below 14.
