more NS questions

okay, im to the point of where im *almost* ready to re-assemble. Got all the solenoid leads plugged 2gether w/ resistors. Got all the old vac. lines taken out. Got a few questions though...where is that door where you have to wire it open? and how do u get to it without taking off the turbos? Also, i have the HD boost cont....so do i need to keep the wastegate control solenoid plugged in to keep from throwing engine codes or can i just forget about it?

plmk,
Zach

ps-any pictures of the wired open door would be outstanding

Ok, I assume "that door" is the TCA door? The TCA is loacted under the car, right next to the oil pan. It looks kinda like a coffee can with a rod sticking out one end bolted to the "door" The can has 2 hoses attached to it.

Crawl under the pass. side of the car, from the front. Look at the oil pan, and look in its general vacinity for something that looks like the pic below.

In this pic it's called Actuator (Turbo Control) on the bottom of the pic.

Yes, the thing by the exhaust manifold. The TCA has that rod sticking out of it. The rod is what opens and closes the door. The lever that the rod on the TCA pushed and pulls is what you wire open.

So, find TCA. Follow Rod. There's the door. The door looks like a miniature version of a crank handle for a window on a car. I wish i had a pic of it, but i don't.

This is what i did, but there is debate about this issue. CAP LEFT SOLENOID!! Take out the two hoses from the left solenoid (left is just to differentiate b/t turbo precontrol and wastegate control) and cap them both. But do not switch the electrical connectors. Leave both electrical harnesses in their original location. Solenoi capping seen here

and here

Yes, leave the electrical harnesses attached. They aren't yet attached in those pics for clarity of the hose capping. But yes, leave the electrical connectors attached.
