More mother f-ing problems...
Last night i went to pick up my paycheck, leaving the parking lot of my workplace i kill my car a few times... i think to myself, "This is odd. I didn't even have the clutch pedal half the way out." I go about my business and get to the exit. Clutch goes to the floor, car dies, people start honking, my hazards come on... finally i get it in gear and get down the road to the next redlight. Keeps stalling. Call my friend, he helps me push it to the Sears Tire parking lot, where it remained last night. I go to get it this morning and and somehow i manage to pump the clutch enough to get some pressure and get it in first gear and drive it to the mazda dealer (i know, i know. but my friend works there, and he's the only one allowed to touch my car. he knows what he's doing) I come back home, and get a phone call a couple of hours later. It's Kim, the service receptionist. She says my master and slave clutch cylinders are out. and the rebuild kit is not an option, they're too far gone. That totals ~$350 with parts, labor and taxes. Also, both of my C.V. Axels are messed up. She says it will be about $475 to replace them. I had her go ahead and get the cylinders ordered and have them installed (there goes my first paycheck....) and told her to wait on the C.V. Axels. Does anyone know where to get performance CV axles? If i'm going to have to pay high dollar for these things i might as well get something that's going to hold up to some power later on.

I got both the master and the slave from Ray at Malloy last October for $115.00 shipped to my door. Really easy to install too. The hardest part was getting everything bled.

yep, its only 2 screws holding the master on (well and the fitting which holds the hard line to the master). if you dont got the time and your late for work, it might be just worth it to have your friend do it though.

CV axles? I think they're just fishing for more money there. The half-shafts on the car are actually pretty durable under normal use. If the boot is simply torn, just replace the boot.
I'd order the parts and do it yourself. Should take an easy afternoon to take care of, and you don't need a lot of special tools.

Yes, however once a boot is torn lots of junk gets caught up in there and resealing that with another boot won't help the problem thats already started.
It wasn't much work to replace 2 axles on some honda's in the past, it's definitely doable though...

FWD cars eat CV axles like candy. Rear-wheel drive cars rarely have problems with the halfshafts, except for breaking them drag racing with a lot of power.
I've worked on TONS of FC's, and I've NEVER seen a bad halfshaft. We're talking some 200,000 mile FC's that have been rode hard and put up muddy.
I'd get the primary problem fixed first and ascertain if the halfshafts are actually *bad*. If they're OK but the boots are tired, put some new boots on and rock and roll.

Ya the CV Axles sounds fishy. I had the same problem and I would have to turn the car on while in 1st gear it was probably bad for the starter but enough to make it h ome.

and as far as the CV axles. it's no bullshit. i'm the one that told them to check them. when i'm driving my tires feel like they're wobbling and it makes a really loud thud-thud-thud-thud noise while driving. makes the car bounce around. really annoying.
already told mazda to get the cylinders for me and install them... i dont have the time to do it myself, or i really would enjoy doing it. and the cv axles will have to wait for another day. probably 3-4 paychecks down the road. that means no racing for me for a while.
