more lies? 99 spec turn lamps

does anyone have a close up picture of the front of a 99 spec combo light (fron turn signals)? is there anything specific i could look for, after they've been mounted in the bumper to tell if they are authentic?

i'll explain the "more lies" soon...

If they are supposedly brand new and never been mounted you could look at the wires on the back of the light. If they plug right into your stock turn light harness(with no adapters on them) then they are most probably replicas. See the real '99 spec lights you have to modify your stock turn light harness to wire them up, or buy an adapter. The replica's plug right into your old harness.

i've heard that there is no real big difference, just the markings on the lens, like said above STANLEY v. other names or nothing. but there is no big diff. from what i've heard

you mean the glass cover right? i noticed that on the pictures of the 99 spec combo lights on RX7Store.net... its near the middle on the lower edge of the "glass" cover...

well, now for my explanation... i was looking at Tom Ngo's orange FD... you know the one with probably $100k of work and parts on it? the one no one has ever seen actually run? yeah that one... well, there's no lettering on the lights... or big show off boy spend all the money on a car that never runs and put knock off lights on it sorries... more lies though to me... i think that's just pathetic.

i know, its probably not a big deal to anyone else... but that kind of stuff pisses me off... even with all the money in the world to build a car... he still cheaped out and bought knockoffs.

Isn't Tom Ngo's FD that riced out silver ine that everyone loves on CarDomain? He's sponsored by ADR and has new wheels every other month and has stickers on his car for companies he doesn't even use products for. Did he finally do the entire car over?

P.S. He needed more gauges

P.S.S. I had just bought my authentic 99spec lights AND the wiring harnesses right before these copies came out

who cares really? As long as they are functional, and HE likes them, why should he have to worry about others' opinions?

He had a "Mugen" badge on his strut bar at one point. It also had airbags on it aswell.

Everything on Tom Ngo's car is replica or non-functional, so why is it a huge suprise if the lights are?

I'm glad to see I am not the retard of the bunch thinking that car is a ricebox. I appreciate show cars, but that FD is a disgrace. If you ever see one of my cars like that, please come and cut off my ******* with a plastic butterknife.

The most important question. Why the hell do you even care if someone has a "replica" or OEM turn signals?

Does this affect your life in any way? Is thisreally such an important subject to make a big deal out of?

look, i'm not saying there is anything wrong with buying knockoffs... but with the way all the tuner magazines blow smoke up his *** for a "top" quality show car when it seems like its all bolt on CRAP it pisses me off. people, a while back, had been bad mouthing this car quite badly so... i figured i would add my $.02 that's all. wasn't trying to make a big deal out of it, just pointing out more 3rd gen rice

and Felix, look on ebay for the knock off's, they're like $200 instead of near $400 (have seen them down to $120 at close before)

jimlab, who's JoeD?

Well,

That's the thing about the internet forum. Everyone has got the opinion, but usually not all the same. Although I think the car is very much 'riced out', the man's got some time, money, and effort to it. And, the best of all, he's got sponsor money for it! Plus, he's now well-known (if he'd like that).

So, we shouldn't be making fun just because we don't like his idea, you know. After all, it's his car.
