more fmic trouble
alright i finished installing my greddy stock twin fmic, but i took it out for a test drive and it is running like crap. to make it worse my defi water temp guage seemed like it wasn't working. the car was running rough and it didn't make a difference what gear i was in. i wasn't getting much boost and the car was hesitating when i would give it gas. then all of a sudden my defi guage sky rocketed up to 230 degrees F, and the car started running perfect. what could this be???????

99% of the time when a perfectly running car, is modded/worked on; then immediately runs bad: it
is something caused by the mechanic.
Wiring or hoses not connected or connected wrong.

built my own engine
i am having the same problem, i tapped my thermal probe in the thermostat housing....i was only able to put 1/2 gallon into the radiator, so i cranked the engine hoping the thermostat would engage, and i think it did- my temps rose after about 5mins of ideling, but then the idle started surging and the temps were 230F+
i am guessing that the radiator didn't have any water in it, and it was trying to suck cool water into the block, but it couldn't....it's a problem with the vertical mount radiator
does anyone have a possible solution to this? both my lower and upper radiator hoses are cool to the touch, but my thermostat housing is hot

first off i tapped my guage into my thermostat housing, which probably isn't the best place. second i did my own work. and third of all my problem sounds really similar to 93blackfd's.
