This is a great comparison and a cool event and I look forward to the results. But, it feels like one of the most common fd modified set-ups is missing... The 430-500rwhp street ported single (35r, 4088, 3574, 500-r, etc). I'd really like to see that in the mix. A sequential BNR at 400+rwhp would be cool too...
While these are all cool cars, they are in the 350-400 hp range or the very high hp range.

moehler... Good to hear from you. I understand your observation that Fritz's car is a "lower hp single", when there are many 450-500 whp single around. I didn't know anyone who tracks their big single with the frequency and at the level that Fritz does. However, while we might have what could be seen as a hole in the roster, there probably isn't. The goal here is not really about speed or acceleration. Its about the effect of the type of power delivery on the handling. The higher hp single will have the same effect on handling as the 375 hp single, but it will be more pronounced, more exaggerated.
Mazda designed the twins so there wasn't really any turbo spool up effect, like there is with a single. And they thought that was important to building this pure handling sports car or they would have just done a TII-like single. I don't know how important it really is. Fritz runs his car at lower boost and power because it a) lets the engine run longer and b) it is probably easier to drive around corners. Or not? Maybe there is no difference at all in handling between a 375 whp twins and a 375 whp single? Spool up or no spool up. These are questions that will largely or basically be answered. We hope.
In any case, there is likely to be a higher hp single there with street tires that Peter could run a few laps in and we do a side bar on whether more or less hp in a single makes what difference in lap times or ease of driving or whatever. Just like I hope we do with a V8. And, again, I think there is interest already in doing this again. Based on the interest and variations everyone has come up with there's certainly enough for another comparison based on open questions from this one.

That being said, it doesn't matter - I'm happy you set this up and are even comparing the cars that you listed. It's a very unique event all around. It will be an interesting comparison of some high end and certainly well built and innovative FDs.

You guys are making way too much of the comparison in relation to performance or competition among the cars and it's not about that at all it's about the differences between the cars and how each has it's place.
Mine: The track ***** (FAST and economical/simple)
Logan's: The ultimate track weapon/race car
Pete's: The do it all car (arrive and drive, then go to dinner)
Gordon's: The car some of us believe mazda should of built and should build (NA 3 rotor)
David's: The HOT ROD or heavily modded street car with a super cool engine, sound and power maker. Show and GO combo.
Again this isn't a competition it's simply an arena to test out and talk about some COOOL!!!! ROTARY!!!! FDs!!!!
PS Bring the V8s I'll compete against those

^ Glad you are coming out and look forward to seeing the car in action.
Wanted to bump this up to make sure everyone that wanted to get out on the course has an opportunity. PM Fritz ASAP if you want to drive but haven't signed up yet. We need to let VIR know very soon about renting the track for 1/2 or the full day.
Like Gordon said, this is meant to be low key for this year, so I am not trying to get a bunch of guys to sign up, just wanted to make sure those that wanted to have the opportunity.

I think it would be good idea to try and keep the dyno session on, just for comparison sake. We all know for the most part its just an arbitrary number, but to have all the cars on the same dyno, on the same day, etc.. would surely be beneficial for comparison purposes.
