Metering Oil Pump Fried
It seems the MOP is a hot topic.
Yesterday I was asking about a dead MOP on a 1990 6 port. $1300 is more than I want to go fix it since I can't get all the ports to work (we can talk about that later). There is only .1 or so ohms between the 2 middle leads on the connector (fried coils??), should be 16 to 31. I'm willing to go the premix route. Will putting 20-25 ohm resistor in line on the wiring harness make the ECU think that the MOP is OK and take it out of crawl mode???

So glad you posted this - I have the same exact situation. My MOP went bad and fried my computer at the same time. I have a new computer but can't afford to replace the MOP - so I'm going to premix.
I posted a similar question, but no one responded. I have a brother in law that's good with electronics who is going to help me create something to simulate the MOP feedback to the computer. Well.... at least that's my idea for now.
I'll let you know if I come up with something that works - please do the same for me if you get to it first.

OK I did this once and lost it.
THe manual just shows the 16 to 31 ohm at least that's all the mechanics computer found wrong with mine. There's a thread in the 2nd gen that seems to say you need more and one about free wheeling (I some how started this in 3rd gen).
How much for the MOP.
I'll post any result I have somewhere (hopefully 2nd gen).
There are some really knowledgeble fanatics out there.
I have to go study for Oracle certification so I can get a RX-8.
Thanks for your help.
