melting turbos

I just took the primary turbo out of the manifold and guess what I found
What what whaaat!!! It melted

You're looking at the cast iron section. I don't think it melted, but it did crack and wear down in the extreme heat. This kind of wear is unavoidable with stock turbos, but if you buy a lower mileage set you won't have to worry about it for a long time.

These cracks tend not to cause any boost issues, BTW, until it gets really bad.
