That's crazy. Are there any liquids inside the airbox, like maybe oil or something?

What else have you changed? Looks like you're piping hot exhaust into the air box!

Could his air pump not be working and now it's venting exhaust into the box?

Backflow from hot engine bay back through intercooler into the intake??
I know it's possible but wouldn't have thought it could be hot enough to do that. Melted airbox, that's definately a new one to me....

There's a check valve (under the ACV, I think) to prevent exhaust backflow into the system and, additionally, one of the lines runs back to the airbox from an air-pump blow off valve in the ACV.

Recently had a issue with the cat. maybe has to do with combination of a few things regarding smog pump.

No freakin idea how this happened!! lol.

Followed all procedures to install the Power FC. Snipped the 4 wires.

There is also a check valve in the line that feeds air to the main cat. Make sure that is intact. It looks to me like you're having hot exhaust backflow into the intake.

I'll check it out.

I'll double check the factory service manual.
