the meaning of FD3S RX-7 ?

the meaning of FD3S RX-7 ?
hmm.. ive always been curious...

what does everything represent in FD3S RX-7 ?

i know the 'FD' represents the 3rd generation of RX-7's.

but i wonder what '3s' or even what 'RX-7' stands for.

haha, sorry just curiosity 4:00 in the morning

If you lool at your VIN number your numbers should be FD*******. This is the mazda chassie code. First gens bad a chassie code of FB and secong gens had FC chassie codes.

Ah but not so Grasshoppah, RX stands for ROTARY EXPORT - read Yamaguchi's RX-7 books.

My FD is # 1564 and was born in Feb of 92

With a serial # that low it probably arrived in the US around March or April of 92.

I have number 1220 and it was born 1/29/1992. Now ask me how I know that?

I know that because I found Japanese script along with that date scribbled onto the inside of my chassis in white chalk.
