MazdaSpeed Underbelly Tray
Wonder if this thing fits w/ the GT-C front bumper? Canman6969, any comments/info?

And how is it different from this item?

I think that blue body kit is the tackiest thing Mazdaspeed has ever built. I like the under tray on the yellow car. It looks like it replaces the factory lip spoiler, unless I'm not seeing the seperation between the panels.

GoodFellaFD3S: WRT functionality, I'm sure it assists w/ cooling (rad). Also sealing off the lower opening to the engine bay should reduce lift a bit.
DamonB: It's weird, the blue one looks like a rectangular sheet in the pix above but looks more detailed in an ad in the current issue of RX-7 Magazine.
Neo: Prolly cuz I don't have the time, tool, nor wherewithal to pursue it. Plus after gett the template made, transferred to an sheet of aluminum, matching mounting points, cutting, + acquisition of material, I'll prolly exceed event he exorbitant price that MazdaSpeed asks for.
Wonder what happened to the other thread about some guy making a belly pan....

Well the yellow is a straight up 99 spec front lip, diffuser.
The blue one is the R-spec bumper, and already has good downforce without needed a front lip spoiler, they just built it in. I think also what the under panel is on the blue one, isnt cosmectic, I mean you will never see it. I think its there to one provide a stronger bumper, to keep it from moving around and cracking at high speed, the second, to work just like the stock one, and provide more stream line under carriage.... That way less drag, I mean its pretty small but thats MAZDASPEED for ya..

I think the blue one is actually a Mazdaspeed Type II front, isn't it?
The Type II has that weird bar going across the middle of the rad/ic and oil/tranny cooler openings, while the GTC doesn't.
Or have I got it backwards?

Goblin ya I changed that before...I just had a brain fart.
If we want to be technical though there is a few names for it
N1 Mazdaspeed Front nose (mazdaspeed calls it this)
R-spec
Type II

mazdaspeed always makes advancement in the wrong direction we dont want stuff like that we want nice bolt ons they need to get off their *** and build a bad *** single turbo or a nice set of twins designed for non-seq of course...(that wont break very easy...)

Rikki, no chance on that with Mazda Group owning them now... Prices will just go up and parts will probably stay pretty much the same... Their ties with AutoEXE are too strong i think, Im sure soon mazdaspeed stuff will start to look like Autoexe soon..haha
