Mazda Speed Type I Spoiler and now a squeaking hatch. How do I fix it?
Hello all,
I have a Mazda Speed Type I spoiler and I've recently noticed that the hatch of my car is squeaking/vibrating during normal driving. It almost sounds like some crickets are living in the trunk. Also, when I hit larger bumps I can hear the whole hatch make a thud sound as if it were loose. Do I just need to lower the catching mechanism or is there some other way to go about it? I figured some of you have had the same issue arise, so any input would be appreciated.
Regards,
Gavin

If you open the hatch, there are two little screw looking thingies that u can raise the latch attatching point up. That should fix it, or you can just lube the **** out of it. Axle grease works wonders: )

I won't let go
I've got the same issue, but I've got the stock wing. It's not so much that is squeeks (which it does) than is sounds like it's not pulled down enough. I did adjust the latch as far down as it would go. At speeds, it shutters like it's not sealed enough.

Be careful here too.. I went and adjusted my hatch so it was closed tight, the stupid thing is so thin that I eventually dented it cause I had to push on it to get it closed (I must have had my keys in my hand at the time. The best advice I have heard is to put in a rollcage to stiffen the chassis, or just weld the dam thing shut.. =)
