I took it to Jim at JPR and he's going to be doing the remove and replace (and a couple other things). www.jprimports.com
Just for the record, when I spoke with Ray he said the engines came with a 12 month, unlimited mile warranty - although there is no way I'd put more than 12,000 miles on the car in a year anyway.

Oh yeah - I forgot to add that too! Mazda is getting picky about warranty claims-now they do not warranty broken apex seals!

Mazda Remans are a pretty good deal (we buy a few every month, to pull apart, port, oil mod, and reassemble) but the quality is not always consistent. We got one that was practically brand new one day and a week later we got one that had a lot of used crap, including some completely worn out main bearings. I'm guessing it was made on a Monday or a Friday. Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don't.

Blake, I concur! I recently pulled one reman apart that had a poorly ported center housing and just one new rotor housing.

Damn, I've seen maybe 50 remans pulled apart and absolutely none of them had problems with bearings or housings.

I pulled a blown one apart once and found a 9.0:1 rotor in the rear and a 9.7:1 in the front. Guess which one broke?

As far as cheap rebuilds and shortcutting, I have a fairly fat customer base that remains happy and supports me even years later. Im not sure how that could be the case if I were building bullshit. Maybe I just have good judgement as to what will and will not ride?

I just got back from Malloy Mazda with my engine. Ray was great to deal with and has gained a customer for life.

So anyway....

I still friggen' waiting. I left a couple of messages for Jim over the past week and never heard back. Called him again today and he answered finally. Says that he's pissed and Malloy still hasn't delivered anything to him yet... (thanks for letting me know dude). Has anyone else heard anything more about remans not being produced or shipped?
