Question B&M short shifter question

I'm thinking of purchasing this short throw shifter kit and was wondering if anyone who has purchased it has noticed if it raised the height/position of the shifter in comparision to the stock one.
I've read great things about the feel of the B&M, but I have seen some short throw kits for some cars raise or lower the shifter quite a bit. Just curious if anyone felt that this one did that? Thanks, Jerry

It stays pretty much the same as the stock height, It looks nice i have it in my car. It just takes getiing use to the short travel shifting, theres more resistance. But it's worth it overall

Mine seems lower but thats because I put a european 5-speed RX-8 shift ****, which is shorter than the stock shifter, on the B&M.

I love mine, it's soooo easy to change gears now. I just rest my arm on that center section and when i need to shift it just clicks right into the next gear. I just recently switched to the stock shift **** too, which i also love.

Thanks for all the feedback. ZumspdRX-7, does the new shifter come with a new transmission bushing? Or do I need to get another new one?

Guys, I don't think he's looking for general feedback; he mentioned he's read great things about the B&M.

To answer your question DJK, the shift **** will definitely sit lower using the B&M shortshifter. In general everything will sit a bit lower, but not to the point that it's annoying or undesirable. It feels very natural IMO, like the car should have come like that.

Also, please keep in mind that shifter height will vary with the shift **** you use; some are taller/shorter than others.

Thanks Ramy, I'm still going to stick with the stock shifter as I actually like the look and the weight of it.

I have B&M, well the B&M replica and its fun but gets boring and annoying for a while. I think im gonna go back to the stock shifter but just cut it down a bit.

I've broken a lot of those bushings that go on the end of the shifter that sits in the tranny. I would recommend the aluminum one that Mazda Motorsports sells as it's bulletproof and it only makes a little more noise.
