The POS GM pins I bought at Advance fit in, but I can't "push the top part down to 'lock' it". So how do you know that these pins the correct diameter for the FD? Unless someone has spent the trial & error time and money, or has Mazda's data sheets on these push pins, then I doubt there is an answer to your question. Also, unless your car has black interior, the push pins will definitely look out of place. I just don't see it being worth the effort to go to all of that trouble, given the price of these things from the dealer. Maybe if you needed 1,000 or so of them. But then again, that's why some people can get a premium for their RX-7 when selling it vs. someone else who gets chump change.
