98' 20th anniversary edition??

Did they make a 1998' 20th anniversary edition in Japan? I've always wonder'd this. Maybe it's a stupid question but I'm an FC guy and haven't ever looked into FD's or their production status.

Tony, in Canada an R1 is called a 25th anniversary edition, with stickers and all. But that's meaning 25th anniversary of Mazda in Canada, not of the RX-7 in Japan.

the only anniversary special in the FD production line is the RS-R - october 97, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the mazda rotary (IIRC).

as I mentioned in another thread, it was also the first FD to wear the 'flying m' (ie: signals the end of 'efini')

try google translator, or a cut-n-paste via http://www.excite.co.jp/world/english/ (switch to the second choice for japanese-english)
