It is good news. Just hope it makes it into North America.

side-note: just noticed for the first time the bead that runs between the gauge hood and dash in the picture of the RHD S8 on Mazda’s site.

Parts list looks like mostly screws and stuff available on other cars? Did I miss something cool in the list?

Yep, biggest is TPS
Many of the engine vacuum hoses
Front caliper pins (which were a bastard to find and didn't come with the rubber rebuild kits or brake pad hardware kit)
Engine dipstick
Spirit R rear calipers (complete)

...but this is just an initial list.

TPS suggested retail price converts to ~$425 US. Dipstick is ~$81.50.

Unfortunately I see this as a Japanese-led initiative which means they probably won't do any LHD parts. Hope they do some parts that are universal, that would be awesome.

Rear brake calipers are one in particular that's a goofy part that you can't get any more and they are frequently rusted/siezed on cars that have sat for a long time.

First thing I thought of, too. Not too much crosses over from RHD - It would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath. Maybe some new windshields will make it out, though.

This is good news. Hopefully many more parts to follow. I have been looking around for rear calipers unsuccessfully. Had to decided to rebuild. Might still go rebuild.

those are weird, Mazda USA had a rebuild program, and the rebuilder is gone, so that has left them with no new parts, and no reman parts. which would be ok, if the aftermarket rebuilders actually did anything
its kind of odd. there are a few part types like this
