This is serious paranoia propagated by huge amounts of rumors and fear from the internet. I have tuned mine to run at 11.8 putting out 400 to the wheel for over 3 years, have not had a problem yet.

thats alot of power for 1) stock fuel and 2) a high flow cat! what boost were u running? did you go to the 1/4 track with that setup? not calling bs but i have found that dynos can be all over the place. both coming in low or high. i dont trust dynos as far as i can throw them!i have seen stock twin dyno sheets measuring 340 yet trapping 123mph and i have seen 500rwhp dyno claims trapping 125. its all lies. not intentional though.

Stock injectors, not stock fuel. Pettit ECU remaps injector duty so it is NOT stock fuel. I am using a Blitz SBC-iD boost controller set to 16 psi. Last qt trip on that setup yielded 11.9 at 131. The hp rating was done on two different dynos (one portable, one in ground).

I made 340whp with stock IC, stock ports, stock turbos. Upgraded fuel pump, DP, MP, catback, intake. Was at about 14psi. Turbos didnt last long

Exclamation

My (Engine) Setup on Type R2 94 Model:
Knight Sports V-Mount Radiator and Intercooler
Knight Sports Air Groove Intake for V-Mount
Stock twin oil coolers
4x 850cc injectors
Re Ameiyma Downpipe
Kakimoto Midpipe
Kakimoto - R "Endpipe" (No Catback.. there is no Cat )
Apexi Power FC
SARD 280 fuel Pump
BUR9EQP Spark Plugs
SARD fuel pressure regulator Type R

(And now someone tells me I heaven´t made my homework before I started modifying )

tuning is a little bit too rich at the moment.

Dynoed at 13.92psi with my stock Twins
350.2 WHP

(Added a HKS Twin Power spark enhancer and now I am tuning ecu again - leaning it out a little bit for perfect tuning - new numbers end of this month )

Think those numbers are nice numbers.
And with this setup I think Everything should live a long life!

f.e. At the moment we have about 85-90°Fahrenheit (>30°C) air temperatures and my water Temp is most of the time between 75 and 80° C.

And now to the people in this forum
"I want to make the most horsepower I can get just with increasing boost, because I won´t change engine parts and I Won´t invest money because all of this is so expensive"

GO MAKE YOUR HOMEWORK!! OR DRIVE OLD CIVICS AND NOT BEAUTIFUL RX7s
TAKE YOUR TIME AND MAKE THE BEST OUT OF HER!

Sorry this was offtopic, but just my 0.02$ I had to tell

what you say could very possibly be true. but trap speeds are based mainly on driver skill. it is much easier to gain high trap speeds with medium level hp applications. there are are alot of other factors too, of cource; weather, tires, ect...

i would though never believe for a second that anyones getting more than 450 to the wheels on stock twins. the best ive ever seen proof of was a guy running 11.8(not sure of trap speed) on stock SEQ twins. he had full supporting mods with stock ports and was running 19psi on the seconday. it is very stupid, but he obtained an impressive 1/4 time

i made 324 rwhp on a mustang dyno. which i would guess is around 360ish on a dynojet. those were with 99 twins, 14-15 psi, stock ports. turbo's lasted forever. engine blew twice. :P

This of course all depends on what kind of dyno you are running as well I think KDR's is a dyno jet so the numbers are gonna be about 15% higher than a dynamics dyno. Thats why its always good to get the dyno graphs to see what the ran on.

Like a said i made 351whp stock seq turbos @15psi on a dynojet dyno. At 17psi i made 361whp but my tuner said that the secondary turbo was shaking and not going to last. I was happy with the result.

Yesterday a friend with the same mods, tuner and dyno made a whopping 397whp@17psi with stock non-seq turbos. I couldn't believed it. Naturally i want to obtained these results. all this is with race gas.

I understand that stock turbos won't last long at these levels, but i don't plan to run at 17psi all day. For street driving 12psi is enough and for the drag strip i would crank it up. My stock seq system is working fine but as can see non seq yields better results. I am planning on turning it to non seq use for the extra hp.

Any comments?
