with upgraded fuel and a PowerFC, you can expect to see 350whp. 375 on a whim, a prayer and a large port. I think two people have seen just over 400whp with street ports.

The most that has been shown on this forum with stock ports and stock twins was 400rwhp:

https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/400rwh-w-engine-stock-turbos-non-seq-152271/

I wouldn't say that's typical though.

Search on posts by matty also. He put down good numbers on a stock port motor and stock twins running sequentially.

unfortunately u will find alot of lounge gibberish as well.

yeah i made 360rwhp on stock ports stock turbos @ 15psi. been running that boost for about 5-6yrs now i think. i typically see 118mph traps in the 1/4 with some 119s sprinkled in there.

as i think more about it i have tried to raise the boost even more but she wont make the additional boost. i am starting to wonder if i have something somewhere thats been limiting the boost for the past several yrs. hence why i have never needed to port my wastegate. who knows......but i want more boost thats for sure.

btw, i would go as far as to say that my tune is conservative. i bet there is another 15rwhp in there easily at the same boost level. i bot my car in show room condition with 15k miles on it. this is the original engine. its had the precat and cat removed pretty much all of its life. i have a pretty good obession with the car so its been well maintained. maybe those are the factors as to why its been strong for long,

more on the tunning cause i am bored. i first had the car tuned by dave at kd rotary. it made 343rwhp. but experienced high end break up. this tune was sick.the airfuel was dead locked at like 11.2 and the car ran real real clean on off throttle etc. was just beautiful. dave recommended i get the hks twin power to clean up the upper rpms and get even mroe power as result. so i did. but i was told that this could lean out the afr some so not to get it installed w/o a new tune. so i went to a steve kan tuning day. we installed the twin power. he tuned it to 10.8 with some 10.6 in there and it made like 359.8. i bet if i simple installed the twin power wi/o the tune and left daves tune in there i would be running 11.5 ish afr and making 375-380.

At 11.5 your playing with fire... Especially on all stock components. Where you running seq. or non- seq? I would say a safe tune for your set up janrx7 would be around 13lbs and depending on how good the compression is in the motor youll hit around 320-330 depending on exhaust, and acc. on the motor. I made 320 @12lbs with my completely stock set-up on some below par turbos. My advice to you isnt to push the HP there is no reason to move from the safe zone for 15hp... Especially when there are so many other variable that can lose it... And for referance on what I mean... I made 320@12 lbs with AIT around 32degress same tune w/ AIT around 43 degrees I made 306. Good luck.

air temps are so important. my butt dyno picks up on it hugely. i am wondering if there is something i can spray to keep air temps at 25C. small dose of nos or something? anyone thinking anything?

no, i really agree with you about the 15rwhp however i believe an afr below 11 isnt ideal.

i will disagree about 13psi being ideal too. 15psi is ideal.

yesterday, my car made 290whp @ 14 psi. The boost controler didn't want to go over 14psi. i bought my car with some mods already, and i am not sure if i got a downpipe or full midpipe. my mods are stock seq turbos, power fc, walbro pump, amemiya filter, catback exhaust,v-mount intercooler. i hope to go to the track tomorrow and see low 13s or high 12s .

thanks for all your inputs

Stock, the car has a pre-cat in the downpipe then the cat. Most cars have had the pre-cat changed out for a downpipe without it. When you see car mods list a downpipe or "dp", it just means that the stock pre-cat has been eliminated and an aftermarket downpipe installed.

I say you forget about HP #'s that other people have been claiming to make on stock twins and go with what was actually shown to be the quickest full weight street FD on stock twins at the track as shown here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3gAo6MMZlg

That would be a no on the stock ECU. The highest I've seen on this forum with the stock fuel system and stock ECU was 266rwhp (with full bolt-ons). That's not bad considering a stock healthy FD will dyno around 215-220 rwhp.

Water Injection my good man, water injection... Set the kit to a constant spray over 5psi of boost. Run your 50/50 meth/water and you should be good. The more you boost the cooler your IAT's ;-)

I'm getting my Aquamist 1s installed on the 10th (using a GReddy SMIC), I'll let you know how my numbers change as a direct result.

Pettit ecu, stock engine, high flow cat, Greddy PE catback, stock injectors, stock fuel pump, custom FMIC. dyno at 365 whp, ran that way for 2 years, converted to single. Stock twins still in excellent condition.
