Manual to Auto Diff Swap - Necessary to Swap Speed Sensors?

Is it necessary to swap speed sensors? I'm planning to swap the diffs with a local guy, as the gearing is too high for my setup at the moment. Thanks.

You Dont Have To. I Made My Fd From Aut To Manual And Never Had To Replace The Speed Sensors . Im Still Running My 390 And Everything Is Working Great.

The manual speedo gear is different from the auto and your speedometer will read slightly slower than what you are going, but not that much to worry about. You are going from a 410 to a 390 gear. I went from a 390 to a 4.33 and I can see a big diffrence. Understanding the change is the key though. You'll be ok.

Wrong forum man.

I believe you can just re-calibrate your Dakota Digital or edit your LS1 PCM.

Yeah I have Dakota Digital. But the auto FD owner was worried about his speedo being wrong. No big deal for me as the wires for the SGI-5 unit is long enough so that I can have it sitting on my pass. seat while I drive, so I can just calibrate it with my GPS.
