Making the Stock BoVs louder?

so i just got my 94' FD and i saw that the Blow off valves just run back into the air box, could i just remove the piping connecting the BoVs to the box would it be louder? or would that be a dumb idea and explode my engine or something?

I did the same thing, it will not harm your engine, just make sure you cap of the nipple at the airbox, and you might want to get some sort of filter set up because the BOV actually sucks air in at idle.

You guys should probably learn how to search for stuff, I believe someone even posted a video of the sound the stock BOV makes when vented into the air.

OMG! not another stock bov question again.........Just take it off plug the airbox hole and then put a small k&N filter on the bov end. And there ya go! Use the search next time before posting, we get these a dime a dozen all the time, it gets boring.

there are not 2 BOV's...there is only one, the other thing is a CRV not a BOV. and if your next question is...."what is a CRV"...i say, do a search

Wow, maybe you have a lot to learn also. The CRV is damned near the same thing as the bov. What do you think its job is??

If I am not mistaken venting the CCV will cause you to have major boost problems. It may be pretty much the same thing, but its purpose is very different.

Do you mean CCV or CRV ? No-one mentioned any CCV here. Only Charge Relief Valve. And I never heard it would be harmful to have it vented.
I have both valves vented to atmosphere without problems.

If air is being sucked into the bov at idle then the turbos are not working correctly . TheY should put out a little air at idle . Enough to feel the air flow on your hand .
