If you don't want a shift light on your dash, you can always go with an MSD rpm switch instead (about $60 from Jegs or Summit Racing) and get the adjustable rpm module to set the limit you want. It has an output that can be used for many things, but hooking it up to a spare alarm siren would work just fine. Or you could get one of those horns that plays a tune... at 7,500 rpm, you could have it play "Dixie" and pretend you're driving the General Lee.
