M2, SR or RB - Choices, choices.

Hey I am looking into buying a dual tip catback exhaust for an FD which looks similar to stock yet gives me a deeper/louder tone. I've narrowed it down to three choices which are somwhat similar in price; SR Motorsports, Racing Beat, and M2.
If there is someone on here that has heard or owns one or more of these, input is greatly appreciated. They are three great companies but I can't go testing out every one of them.

SR Motorsports: I've seen their exhaust on their website and it looks well made, however, I don't know of anyone on this forum with one. Cost is $699!

Racing Beat and M2: Do a search. Lots of posts to describe these two, i.e., both are well built, stock looking (if that's what you want), and relatively quiet, however, the M2 is the more aggressive sounding of the two. It's also more difficult to get ahold of one as they are sourced from Australia and M2 doesn't bring in very many.

The SRM exhaust is unproven. That's not a knock on their product, but there's no feedback on it to make an informed decision when considering its purchase. The RB and M2 exhausts are well known and at $200 less ($499), you know what you're getting.

Hmmm....

So no one is backing up M2 or SR Motorsports.... I think I'll do a little more research and see why the RB is that much better than the M2 before I jump on it. I was also interested in M2's downpipe so I figured buy both from one co. but we'll see...

M2 is very difficult to order parts from these days.

For downpipes I'd recommend RX7 Fashion ( http://www.rx7fashion.com/downPipes.htm ) pipe after seeing the fitment and the bend difference versus the other downpipe I own and can't use (since it'll only hook up to a midpipe ).

The RB seems to be the concensus choice for dual-tip catback these days.

I have an M2 exhaust. It's brand new and been sitting in the garage as I've been too busy the past several weeks to have it installed since I bought it. When shopping for an exhaust, I was considering Racing Beat too, but everybody and their brother has one! I went with M2 for its (somewhat) exclusivity, plus it's quiet, and looks OEM with no logo on the tips to give away that it's aftermarket (e.g. "Racing Beat"). I live in Cali and don't want to have to deal with tickets for modified exhaust and this is probably the next best thing to stock.

And "TracyRX7" is correct. Parts from M2 are hard to come by since they no longer race RX-7s, and they're catering more now to WRXs. And I second the recommendation on RX-7 Fashion downpipes (http://www.rx7fashion.com/downPipes.htm). I bought one, fit and finish is good, and it's a fine alternative if you can't get one or don't want to wait for one from M2.

I got the Racing Beat dual a few months ago and love it. Sounds good, but not too loud. Beautiful fit and finish.

if you search, you should find a thread that shows you where to buy the muffler used by m2 directly for alot less money. your then just a custom bent pipe away from an m2 system (without the polishing on the pipe which is a waste imo anyway) for about 1/2 the money.

You sure about that? M2's exhausts are imported from Australia. In any case, you can go to almost *any* muffler shop and buy a generic muffler and have a full exhaust built for you at less expense than buying a brand name off-the-shelf model.
