m2 harness bar

hey guys, im getting ready to spend my money on suspension as i feel ive done all reliablity mods and the car is fast enough(for now). now what i want to know is if the m2 rear harness bar is just as good as the cusco bar? i dont want something flimsey but i do like the advantage of being able to get some belts. that would really be great for the twisties. if anyone has it and would like to elaborate on how it would compare to the cusco or any other at that matter aside from stock then please do so.

The M2 rear strut/harness bar is the sh*t. Damn thing's built! Overbuilt with triangulated welded joints! Stiffens the rear end up very nicely too! Highly recommended piece. I don't recall what I paid...$250 retail or something?

What ever you do, don't mount your harnesses to that flimsy stock rear strut brace. You'll get yourself killed!

Keep in mind that if you get harnesses for the street-that you'll want some DOT harnesses from Schroth or something similar. I don't think a 5 point harness is really practical for the street.

I have to back up Mastacow on this. I have the whole M2 rollbar setup and have a 6 point harness. I use my car for open tracking mostly with a little around town driving. The harness is a pain in the *** getting in and out. I also have a Sparco Rev seat compounding the trouble. It's bad enough that I typically only take the car for one stop trips around town.

I can just picture a chic climbing into the car and having to put the belts over her shoulders and between her legs.

Be careful with using a 4 or 5 point harness without a roll bar. Saw pictures of a BMW that landed on its roof at Summit Point and completely crushed the roof. Driver survived b/c the OEM belt allowed him to squish down. If he were sitting strapped in a 4 point harness, he would be about 4 feet tall and dead ...
