ummm, it looks better!

I don't know how it compares but, I don't think you will be disapointed.

I currently have the M2 CF intake. It works very well, and it looks a lot better than all the other CAI's out there. But I am going to sell mine mainly because of the smog ****'s in California. If smog isnt a concern for you and you want a CAI, I would say go with the M2.

ok.....i'll be the one to gripe about it. For the $$ you spend on it, i think it could be built just a little bit better. This is the things, that i would change. The hoses are a pain in the *** to get to fit on the back. Not one...but all of them. Mine, rubs the hood insulation. Also the top most filter rubs on the lid, causing some funny sounds. The size of the holes in the back of the air box, that the rubber intakes hook to, should of been just a hair smaller. But over all, it is the best intake on the market (imo) because it picks up nothing but cold air, from beside the radiator. CJ

Installing the M2 CF (or their older aluminum one) intake doesn't remove or disable ANY of the OEM emissions equipment and therefore doesn't actually Violate CA emission regulations.
There are a lot of FD's out there that pass CA inspections just fine with M2 intakes installed

I'm very happy with mine...had it for a while now. I think it looks the best but not sure as how it really performs compared to the other intakes. Never had any fitment issues like ppbnos talked about.

You can pass a sniff test fine with the m2 unit, but you will not pass the visual from an **** inspector. It has no CARB#, contrary to what some rumors are saying.

I'm about to invest in one of these. About $485.00 for the box and filters right? Can anyone get one cheaper...any group buys? any used ones?

Ill have a used one before the end of the month, there was also a GB, but they only had 3 of them and they are all sold out. If you are getting a brand new one, M2 is probably your only choice.

How hard is it to get the M2 box in and out? What about stock? Since smog only happens once every 2 years, if I have to pull the M2 out and replace with stock for the smog check I'd be ok as long as the process isn't too time consuming or painful. Any input?

i personally have had the greddy intake (big foam purple thing) and now have the m2. i really didn't feel any difference on the butt dyno. i'm sure there is a slight one but not really noticeable in my experience. taking the m2 intake in and out is easy. like someone previously mentioned, the hoses are kind of hard to get into the back of the box. i'd say it would take about 30-60 minutes for the average guy to swap the two intakes. faster if you've done it a few times. really no big deal.

It's not that hard. I've pulled my stock box a couple of times before. Maybe 30 minutes to swap.

Take of the hoses and unscrew a few 10mm bolts.

Instead of bothering to pull it in and out, find a smog station that isn't so ****. Unless you need to go to a smog test only stations, then it might be harder to find out that doesn't care about that detail. I just got passed with my M2 intake and medium i/c. No questions at all. Air pump is a must though.

The Inspector at the Smog CHECK ONLY place hardly looked at my car, did not comment on the fact I had a DP, my air box is modified (don't think he even noticed!) all he checked was that the air pump was there and all the hoses & wires were connected. He didn't even look under the car to check the cat.
My car passed fine w/ all my mods in place

ALL rotories in CA are being sent to CHECK ONLY stations.

Hey maxpesce, where did you hear that? Last time I went (early 2001), I only had to go to a regular station.....
