Low Power, Need Help!

Here's my story.....

This year, I have installed a new Adkins ported engine and JSpec Turbo's. I also installed a new O2 sensor.

Last year, Downpipe, Catback, Hi Flow Cat, ECU, Intake, Boost guage, Profec B.

I think I should have 275 - 300rwhp at this point. The boost is ramping up quickly and is in an 11-9-11 pattern.

The power feels less than when she was stock.

Any ideas on where to look for my problem?

Feels less, or IS less..........? Do you mean power across the whole rpm range?

Is less. Yes through the whole range.

It is actually the worst when in 4th gear and about 3500rpm's. Really slow acceleration.

Hmmmm.... I've had this problem before. I'll think about this for a while. For now, check your plugs and wires. I'm not sure which plug it is, but if one of them goes bad, you'll still show that your making boost, but you won't be going anywhere. This also happens if wires are reversed.
Good luck.

I had a reputable FD mechanic out of Indianapolis install the motor, but I'll check on the wires. He installed new plugs when he did the motor swap 2 months ago.

Try doing a dyno run so you get some qualitative data on how much power you're putting down across the range.

If it were the clutch, wouldn't you smell it? I know it didn't take much to make my stock one smell. I guess it's as good a guess as any at this point.
The dyno idea is a good one.

No smell from the clutch.

I did have an upgrade fuel pump put on today. Test spin tomorrow.

I wonder if it could be a leak of some sort. Your boost comes up quickly?

No leaks that we know of. The boost is quick. I also had a silicone hose job done this year as well.

You think your pissed? I have missed 3 driving events, spent $10,000 on the car and new trailer and can't figure out why it doesn't have power. This is definately a love/hate relationship!

What do you think about the ECU being bad? I install a Pettit upgraded ECU last year.

Put an A/F guage on, looks good.

Will try to trade out the ECU to see if that may be the problem

Switched out the Pettit ECU with an M2. No difference.

Could it be the knock sensor?

I'm not sure the knock sensor would have anything to do with it, but if you have an appropriate test for that sensor, it's worth a try.
Could this be ignition related? Like a bad coil or something?

There are only so many different areas to look. Why aren't we stumbling onto this? You checked ECU, you checked some ignition components, your turbos are not old, you don't have a boost leak, and your clutch isn't slipping. What else could affect power? The thing that is intrigueing is that you're showing correct boost levels. I'm convinced that this is your key.
Assuming your boost readings are correct, we have to find what other things factor into power delivery.
I'm sorry man.
This must be driving crazy. I'll keep asking around.
Good luck
Jim

Feul, Fire and Timing. That's the things I can think of. The A/F ratio seems fine. Has to be the fire or timing.

Talking

Turns out, it was the leading coil.

Gonna pick her up on Thursday and take her straight to Putnam Park Road Course for a 3 hour lapping session celebration!
