low boost and popping exhaust
I was driving my 93 the other night and got on it. it pulled fine until about 1000 before red line then it started backfiring. the car runs fine under normal driving conditions, but as soon as in builds about 5psi of boost it kicks and sputters and pops. I checked for vacume lines that might have come off, but there are none. I have reset the computer several times but no difference. When the car acts up the A/F guage shows rich. Any help would be great and thanks for any responses

Check your Boost Sensor, it's mounted to your firewall on the driver side a little toward the center from the brake booster. There is a hose and a filter that should connect to a nipple on the bottom. If this is off your car will run like crap. I assume if it runs fine under normal conditions, this is not the case, but worth a look. Other than that, check your plugs/wires. That's about all the help you can get with the info you provided, list mods and give more details on your acceleration/boost. It could potentially be a clogged precat and/or main cat. Good luck.

Okay, check all the intercooler couplings. My FD did this until I "fixed" the hose that popped off going to the throttle ...
Other than that, with all the information that you've given us, I'm clueless. What have you checked?

im not spazzing, it just seems to take a note like the one i wrote to get any kind of help. I have no CAT, the line to the map sensor is on, all the intercooler couplings are on and tight, it runs fine if you bring it up to speed, 7000rpm, with no real boost, over 5 psi, and runs fine other then that. Could it be a fuel filter problem? I was thinking once the computer sees boost it kicks in the secondary injectors. maybe?
I have the M2 stage 3 kit with a downpipe, greedy exhaust, big m2 intercooler, MSD spark plug wires that i put on about 5ooo miles ago. By the way thanks for all of your responses, somthing is better then nothing at all.

This popping is either one of two things. Either its not getting enough gas or the turbos arent spooling up correctly. I have a setting on my PFC where I can adjust the boost level in bars and also the percent at which turbos come on. If i put turbos to come on too late or too early, it gives off a loud pop like a cut in fuel....
Its just some info with my experience....
