Loudest BOV?
Im about to get an FD, and i want the loudest BOV i can get. Noone in 100 miles of me has an FD and i want mine to really be noticable. Also, thats what made me look for the RX-7 in the first place, the turbo.
I took a ride in my buddies 98 eclipse spyder and after i heard his turbo spool up and the BOV open, i was hooked. But, i have allways thought that the RX-7's were the best looking cars ever made, so that sealed the decesion for me.
Anyway, how can i make my car louder as far as the turbo's go? Its allready got a intake, and a couple exhaust mods. I Think its got the stock BOV though.

Try venting the stock BOV to atmosphere and see how you like it (no sense spending money if you don't have to).
If you still don't like it, then look for an aftermarket one.

Oh ok.. Also, they probably should have gave you any extra washers that they didn't put in it. I think there are six altogether. I know DSM guys usually put like 3 or 4 in it..

Goodfella, I got mine on ebay.. I paid like 159.00 for it I think, M2 has them too if you feel safer going through a company and I think M2 performance wants like 170.00 for one. They don't make a rx7 specific flange so you're on your own for that one..

(Obviously) I got mine from Rotary Performance. Depending on what kind of boost you're running, there are two different trims. S (to 15psi and $129.50) and H (10psi+ for $159.50)

p.s. These things are pretty damn loud.
"The valve (type S) vents to atmosphere at sound levels as high as 106dB. The Type H is a larger valve designed for cars running 10psi or higher. It is also fully adjustable and vents to the atmosphere with sound levels exceeding 110dB."

Enuttage, Which one are you using? I have the TurboXS Type H-RFL, I'm guessing you just have the plain Type H? They both do the same job, except the RFL has a horn on it.

P.S. Mine's pretty loud too, I usually drive with my music full blast. But I took a DSM buddy of mine for a ride at 12 psi and he said it was super loud. He said he heard it ricocheying(sp?) off of houses. I don't know I never really noticed it that much.

I have the Blitz BOV and its perty loud. But I gotta a question, how do you make it even louder I turned the screw in perty far is that all you can do? I just want it to be a little louder. Does only the XS one use washers? could I do that to my Blitz one?
Thanks

I think the more the screw is in the louder it is on the blitz, greddy, etc..
Instead of a screw at the top to turn, Turboxs bov's use washers to adjust sound/resistance. Turboxs bov's still have a nipple at the top to plug a vacum line to the intake manifold, but it's not adjustable. Basically the Turboxs bov's(or at least the Type H and one I have, the Type H RFL) have tops that unscrew. The inside of the top is what the top of the spring inside sits against. Once you unscrew the top you can them put washers inside of the top which in-turn when you screw the top back on those washers will be sitting between the top of the spring and the inside of the top itself. So by adding washers you actually add more resistance simulating a heavier spring.
I don't think this would work with any other bov's though, unless you could figure a way to take them apart.

Yellow Dragon is no more
I have the turboXS BOV .... it is the loudest I've heard. Also, don't use the washers. I blew up my 60-1 because of running too many washers based on the knowledge of DSM guys running 5 of 6 washers. Start with no washers and ONLY use washers if you start loosing boost pressure.
