Hmm. I think I saw you one day stuck at the light of Sunset dr east bound at 117th ave. It ried to give you a thumbs up, but you took off too fast Maybe it wasn't you.

I wasn't in the FD, so that's probably why I wasn't given any attention

sniffle

looks bad man, especially with that beautiful red paint job

Did you get an estimate as to the cost? I'm going to guess $7000-10000 for repairs. Good luck finding a very good bodyshop to get this taken care of

Glad youre okay..

I am betting on it being totaled. My car was hit similarly 1 month ago and the insurance had to cough up $5k. My airbags did not pop, my windshield was fine, my strut and suspension were perfect. No frame damage at all. Just the bumper, fender, hood, headlight, oil cooler, side marker, and tire were adjusted for over $5000 so with all that is wrong with yours I would not hesitate to guess around $10k in damage. The airbags will be around $2500 alone plus the same damage as mine equals $7500 then you have to add all the frame work, body damage, windhield, and anything else that got damaged such as your wheel. I bet they total it. Sorry for your car but at least you were not the 3rd fatality this week. They come in 3's you know. So I am glad your were wearing your seatbelt and are safe. Good luck with the car. Scott

Check the Canadian forum. An 18 yr old named Jesse with a silver FD. That would be the third fatality. A very sad weekend in the RX-7 community.

Dude, sorry to see your FD in that condition, but really sorry to say that the insurance company probably will total it. I had a head-on accident (not my fault) in my 96' BMW 840ci back in 2000, well not really a head-on accident but the damage was very simular to your FD. My insurance company totaled the car because of the stuctural damage to the front frame and suspension. With this being the only damage to the car, plus the airbags and front windshield (and yes the airbags do hurt like hell when your not wearing your seatbelt) they had rather cut me a check for 47k than to fix the car. As far as the insurance company is concerned they don't give a damn if you think the car is repairable they just don't want to pay for it. The wholesale on an FD really isn't that much and if you are looking 8-10k in repairs you're SOL on having the ins. company fix it.

Doood, sorry to see this damage...I got into the same kind of accident about three years ago...I was turning left across three lanes and the two closest lanes stopped for me...I proceded and then this fookin cherokee came speeding down and ripped the front of my (Corola) right off...he went up on two wheels, crossed the sidewalk, his back wheel broke off, he ended up crossing the sidewalk going into the gas station and crashing into another car that was getting gas...pretty scary stuff....lets just say that I haven't made that mistake anymore...Insurance is a beautiful thing...hopefully your car will be back soon..

gald no one's hurt..

I lookes like its totalled to me. That bent strut bar is telling me frame damage. Its also a grand or 2 per airbag then there is the body work paint winshield. If it gets totaled you can get a 5 spd instead of a auto, may be a mixed blessin

Hahah thanks Sam, thats the main reason I didn't want it totaled. I mean if it was, I was gonna look for a five speed, buy my VR back, swap all my mods, sell the rest. Many people told me it looked off he showroom floor, so to me that compensated for its not too quickness. Eventually I'll swap that slush-box out because I'm happy to report: My baby is commin back! Now with that said.... Railgun I've been estimated at about 5-6K. Now lord knows it will turn ito 8 but I duno. Your car has a **** load of body damage. They woud have to replace your rear panel, door, mirror, fender, and bumper, not to mention the corner light and if ur headlight is broken. What insurance company are you dealing with and is your winsheild a lil cracked? FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT! Best Wishes.....

Country companies up here. Yeah, the windshield's gone. They're saying about 11K in damage. I dunno about that. I did a little research and came up with about 4k for parts. I doubt it'll be 6K+ for labor. I'll know in a about a week...

Then who would the first be? Jesse's incident was posted first followed by the father incident which makes two.
