Loss of power at 4500rpm

ok so I have just imported a 98 RB direct from Japan.
It starts first pop and pulls fine untill around 4-5k rpm which is when looses power and miss fires.
Being an import I don't know anything about the history of the car.
When it first arrived it wouldn't start due the plugs being fouled up, it now has new plugs and has had a general service but still miss fires.

Is this a common issue with the RX7's? Any idea why its doing this.
I'm taking it back to the mazda garage wednesday week to get looked at, but just wondering what I could be in for.

Did you install the plugs yourself? Are the wires all connected right and in the right firing order?

What is your boost pattern? 4500 rpms is when the second turbo comes online. Sounds like it's not coming online at all.

Not going to be able to help you much if you can't tell us what your boost pressure is. These cars are dogs without boost.

Step 1: Buy a boost/vacuum gauge. Without one, you are pissing in the wind trying to fix a boost related problem.
