so im going to buy this fd for sure on monday and im driving it and at idel it sounds like it wants to die and when you floor it it hits the fuel cut and sounds like its going to die but it has a PFC, and all supporting fuel mods i think the plugs are bad and need a change car sat all winter with same fuel in it and didnt get started anyways if some one could give some advice on what to do im takeing it to the rx7 store on monday to get it tuned hopefully that will fix it

Don't floor/ boost the car with old fuel.

Changing the plugs, siphoning out the old fuel and putting in a few gallons of fresh fuel should help if that's whats wrong with the car.

Have you gotten a compression test done? Don't commit to buying it until you've done at least that.

 

the motor is fine it runs great. and had a fresh rebuild 2 years ago and less than 5,000 miles on it but ill get it checked for sure

 

ok went and test drove it everything works except the spedo it only goes up to 20mph and the car runs a little hot not over heating or anything what do you guys think the problem could be with. the spedo i think its a sensor

Since you know nothing about these cars how do you know it's running "a little hot" IIRC the PFC also reads speed, Does it read correctly and the speedo does not or do they both read the same thing ? If they both read the same I'd suspect the speed sensor in the tranny.

 

i know a lot about fds it has a pfc. but no controller and the spedo only goes up to 20mph and stops its weird it worked a couple mounth ago ive tried to buy this car. 4 times and always missing it by a few days and i talked to jason at the rx7store. he said it probly is a speed senson and need more coolent.
